Over these summer weeks, we have been sharing more about the new offerings at The Generosity Trust, and we are excited to continue that process this month.
Our strengthened focus starts with an updated mission statement:
We Empower Christian Generosity
The Generosity Trust has historically thrived on the faithful stewardship of treasure and truth. While we will always seek to continue in that way, we find ourselves in an ever-changing city and a continuously growing landscape of ministry.
As a board and staff, we’ve asked ourselves some tough questions, and we’re better for it. We’re excited to share with you some new initiatives that will strengthen our service to the community through the stewardship of talent and relationships. In other words, we will:
- collaborate with people doing great work in our city
- connect people strategically in order to catalyze community-based and multi-generational generosity, and
- care well for our donors as we listen to their hearts and engage them more intentionally in the grace of generosity.
In June, we announced the first two of our four Strategic Initiatives:
(1) Establishing TGT as a support center of connection, education, and community.
Together with our donors, we will press into the opportunities God is putting in front of us, fostering greater generosity by:
- expanding our knowledge base of local non-profits and ministries.
- understanding the hearts and passions of our donors.
- connecting our donors to mission-aligning ministries and non-profits that are meeting specific community needs.
(2) Grow TGT as a center of service for the benefit of greater Chattanooga.
Whenever collaborative efforts are taking place for the common good of our city, we will ask ourselves how we can help by:
- joining with other community partners as a representative of the faith-based community.
- serving as a leader, convener, and catalyst of the local faith-based community.
- sharing funding opportunities through our network of donors.
We are pleased to share the final two initiatives with you now:
(3) Catalyzing multi–generation Christian generosity.
Inspiring and encouraging generosity within families is a privilege we have at The Generosity Trust. We realize it takes time to build genuine trust, and we look forward to delving deeper into meaningful relationships with more of our donor families. We will engage with more families to:
- help them determine the legacy they wish to leave.
- assist them as they share their dreams and passions with one another.
- build harmony and unity throughout their generosity journey.
(4) Increasing the number of Donor-Advised Funds and doubling the amount of grants made.
Providing greater opportunity to community members to establish Donor-Advised Funds (DAFS), we will continue to make the generosity process easier. DAFS offer a simple, flexible, and tax advantageous way to give to your favorite non-profits and ministries by:
- opening a hassle-free fund, where you leave most of the work to us.
- streamlining your charitable giving through our most popular fund, the Giving Fund, which has no fee or minimum.
- considering one of our multiple investment options.
Thank you for helping The Generosity Trust embrace this vision for our immediate future. Uniting with our donors and fund holders to support kingdom building causes is an honor. We believe that through our new initiatives, generosity will increase, and we will help fulfill God’s good plan for His world.
And most importantly, we want your thoughts and insights on our plans. Watch for a Survey Monkey to complete in the coming days. We appreciate your candor and your partnership as we move forward together.
